Hello lovelies!
It's been a while! Anyway, I'm back to it! Sooooooo, for ages I had been wanting to tint my eyebrows because I have brunette hair and blonde, barely there eyebrows! It made me feel uncomfortable to wear no eyebrow makeup because I feel that eyebrows are such an important feature on your face and one of my favourite features too! However, I was nervous to go and get them tinted at a salon because I'm growing out my eyebrows at the moment and didn't want them threaded or shaped or anything - I just wanted them darker.
Anywayyyyyy I bought the "EYLURE dybrow dye kit" (in Dark Brown) from Boots. It was £7.50 I think! In the box, you get a 'colour cream' tube, a bottle of activator liquid, an instruction leaflet, a spoolie brush, and an applicator.
PREPARATION:
So i prepared my eyebrows by removing any makeup on them with some liz earle cleanser and a makeup wipe. I waited for them to dry before doing anything else. I then applied a thick ish layer of vaseline around my eyebrows to protect the skin around them.
MIXING THE DYE:
So the instructions say to squeeze about 2cm of the cream colour into the mixing dish along with 5 drops of activator liquid. I did this, however once mixed together it was far too runny and diluted. So, I scrapped that and started again, with only about 3 drops of activator liquid. This was a much better consistency.
APPLICATION:
To apply the dye to my eyebrows, I used my Zoeva angled brow brush as I felt that it gave way more precision than the spoolie wand. I applied a thick layer of dye to each eyebrow, then set my phone timer for about 3 minutes (1-2 minutes is suggested, which is definitely not long enough!). However, when I removed the dye with a makeup wipe, they were barely any different! So i re-applied for another 5 minutes. That was better! I think I even did another layer for only a couple of minutes. That made it perfect, so next time I'd just leave on for just under 10 minutes!
MY THOUGHTS:
After removing the dye off for the final time, I was pleased with the results! They were a nice even, natural colour and definitely bolder, which is what I wanted! They were certainly not too warm toned either, as I was slightly anxious they would come out almost orange, but luckily they didn't! It claims to last up to six weeks, but I can see myself re-doing them before then! Overall, I'm pleased with the results and would recommend to all wanting slightly darker brows (the results are natural, but still make a difference).
Hope you enjoyed this, speak to you soon,
Love Georgia xoxo
