Hello my lovelies!
Oh my goodness you guys! I am flipping melting! I think that the UK has finally discovered the sun... ;P It has been ridiculously hot these past 3 days and it has officially put me in the summer mood!.... Even though we are now expecting thunderstorms.... crap ;)
I got my nails done today btw! I had shellac and a lovely lady named Mary made my nails look gorg! I chose a pretty and summery pastel blue and I am super happy with them.
Anyway, seeing as I have been hit by the summer vibes, I decided to put together a few of my favourite snack ideas with little recipes too! Don't be alarmed, these are easy af ;) and I mean, who doesn't like food! Haha, here it goes.......
Campfire Cone S'mores
Oh my goodness! These are the best s'mores that you will ever eat!
- You will need: waffle ice cream cones, + your desired toppings (marshmallows, chocolate chunks, bananas, strawberries, Reese's peanut butter cups, etc...)
- Just fill your ice cream cone with all of your toppings and wrap the cone in tin foil
- Then place either on a campfire for 3-5 mins, or in the oven for about 5 minutes - 'cook' until the toppings have melted
- And enjoy your amazing, gooey cone!
Ice Cream Sandwiches
This is a firm Summer favourite of mine, and a nice little twist on the classic ice cream!
- All that you will need is: Ice-cream (your desired flavour) + 2 cookies/biscuits per sandwich - you can make the cookies yourself if you would like to, and you can find lots of recipes for cookies online!
- Simply take 1 scoop of ice cream and pop it onto the back of one of your cookies. Then take your other cookie and place it on top of the ice cream. Squish the cookies together until the ice cream reaches the edges.
- To neaten it up a bit, take a knife/palette knife/spatula and run it around the edges of the cookies to smooth out the ice cream. You can experiment with different flavoured cookies and ice cream! Yummy!
Rainbow Fruit Kebabs
I know that these are super standard and stereo-typical summer snacks, but I still love to make them!
- You will only need: kebabs sticks, and lots of brightly coloured fruit - chopped into chunks of a similar size.
- For rainbow kebabs, I use: strawberries (red), mango (orangey), pineapple (yellow), kiwi (green), blueberries (kinda blue), red/purple grapes (purpley ish), and raspberries (pinky - not a colour of the rainbow but whatever!)
- Then slide your fruit onto the kebab skewers/sticks into a rainbow order! You can even drizzle some chocolate on top if you would like!
I hope that you enjoyed this type of post! It certainly made me hungry! If you make these summer snacks, please send me a picture to show me, via instagram! @violet.rose.x
